Mamiya RB67 Pro-S - Camera
The Mamiya RB67 is an iconic Japanese medium format 6x7 SLR. The name RB67 gets its name from the rotating back which allows for shooting in portrait or landscape orientation without changing the position of the camera. The cameras are mostly meant for studio work but can, with some physical effort, be brought outside the studio. The viewfinder is a 7x7 square and has lines to reflect both orientations. The RB is a fully mechanical system that does not require batteries to operate which is ultimately one of its biggest advantages over the newer RZ67.
Succeeding the RB67 Professional, RB67 Professional S was announced in 1974 and it was sold for over 15 years! The shutter interlock system was impoved a bit and focusing knob lock was a new feature.
The lens offering for the RB67 system is great and the quality of the glass is superb. Lenses are equipped with leaf shutters. Shutter speeds range from 1 second to 1/400th second.
